The Department of Social Welfare, Government of Bihar, has issued a strict deadline for all social security pension beneficiaries. If you are receiving Old Age (Vridha), Widow (Vidhwa), or Disability (Viklang) pension under the state schemes, you must complete your e-Labharthi e-KYC (Life Certificate/Jeevan Pramaan) by December 31, 2025. Failure to complete this biometric verification will result in the immediate stoppage of pension payments starting January 2026.

Why is e-KYC Mandatory?
The Bihar government requires all pensioners to prove they are alive once a year to prevent fraud and ensure funds reach legitimate beneficiaries. This process, known as Jeevan Pramaan or Life Certificate verification, is now fully digital via the e-Labharthi portal.
Documents Required for e-KYC
- Aadhaar Card (Must be linked to the bank account)
- Beneficiary ID or Bank Account Number
- Mobile Number (for OTP verification)
- Bank Passbook (for reference)
How to Check e-KYC Status Online?
Before visiting a center, you can check if your Life Certificate is already valid:
- Visit the official portal: elabharthi.bih.nic.in.
- Click on “1. e-Labharthi Link 1 (For Block,District,Department Login)” or the Beneficiary Status link.
- Select “Payment Report” > “Check Beneficiary Status”.
- Enter your District, Block, and Beneficiary ID/Aadhaar No.
- Click Search. If the status shows “Verified” for the current year, no action is needed. If “Pending” or “Expired”, proceed to KYC immediately.
Where to Complete Your e-KYC?
Since the deadline is just days away, visit one of the following locations immediately:
- Common Service Centers (CSC): Visit your nearest Vasudha Kendra with your Aadhaar card. The operator will use a fingerprint device to authenticate your life certificate.
- Block Development Office: You can visit the Social Welfare desk at your local Block office for free verification.
